CLINICO-MORPHOLOGICAL GROUPING OF BENIGN TUMOURS, CYSTS, HYPERPLASTIC AND DYSTROPHIC TUMOUR-LIKE DISEASES OF THE LARYNX
Abstract
On the basis of persona-1 material and literature data the author presents grouping of benign tumours, cysts and tumourlike diseases of the larynx. True tumours were divided into epithelial, connective tissue, neurogenic and mixed; nontumour diseases — into dyskeratoses, inflammatory-hyperplastic, metabolic, dystrophic, autoimmune, maldevelopments and prolapses of the laryngeal ventricles. Among the cysts there were distinguished cysts of the ventricles and cysts of the extraventricular localization (chiefly retention cysts). Nontumour diseases occurred more frequently than benign tumours. The latter were diagnosed in 296 of 758 patients.
