Abstract

Androgen deprivation therapy is a widely used treatment for metastatic prostate cancer. Androgen deprivation therapy can be administered medically or surgically and aims to suppress androgen production or block its receptors.

Although androgen deprivation therapy can provide rapid symptomatic relief in patients with metastatic prostate cancer, it is not a cure, but rather a palliative measure.
