Abstract

Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) is a type of pulmonary arterial hypertension, whose etiology has not been established. For many years, ventilation-perfusion scintigraphy and pulmonary angiography have been the "gold standard" of preoperative diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension, but now several non-invasive imaging methods, such as chest radiography, echocardiography (Echo-KG), multispiral computed tomography (MSCT), as well as, in particular, to a lesser extent, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
