EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR INHIBITOR IN THE TREATMENT OF ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS

This article is devoted to the effectiveness of treating ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a chronic inflammatory disease of the musculoskeletal system. The study included 53 patients with active AS (BASDAI activity index >4) and failure of standard therapy, which included the TNF-a inhibitor infliximab (INF) at a dose of 3-5 mg/kg intravenously for 0, 2, 6 weeks and next every 8 weeks. In patients treated with INF, a positive clinical effect was achieved by indicators BASDAI and BASMI scores, as well as a remarkable positive result in dynamics vertebral mobility index and BASFI score. Tolerability of INF patients was satisfactory.
