Dairy buffalo ketosis is a disease of a polyetiological nature, in the occurrence of which an important role is played by energy deficiency in the midst of lactation, the same type of highly concentrated feeding, obesity at the stage of attenuation of lactation and dryness, feeding feeds containing a lot of butyric acid, physical inactivity, lack of insolation and aeration. In the problem of ketosis, both some aspects of the pathogenetic mechanism and etiological factors in the development of the disease remain the most important today.
