Abstract

Target. To improve the anatomical and functional results of treatment with damage to the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis.

Material and methods. For the period 2021–2022, 24 patients with damage to the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis were treated in the acute injury department of the Samarkand branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics.

Results. Good and excellent results when assessed after 3, 6, 12 months (>70 points) were obtained in 18 patients, which accounted for 75%, satisfactory results (50-69 points) were observed in 6 (25%).

Findings. Treatment of patients with MS injuries should be carried out, taking into account the factors of preoperative planning, based on the results of ultrasound and computed tomography, which, together with the existing generally accepted ones, complements the interpretation of the damage picture and facilitates the choice of tactics of the surgical aid. The proposed method of osteosynthesis makes it possible to reduce intraoperative trauma, which creates favorable conditions for wound healing and helps to reduce the number of purulent-necrotic complications.
