Abstract

70 children with abdominal obesity were examined. Anamnestic, clinical, biochemical and hormonal studies were conducted. It was revealed that 54.2% of children with abdominal obesity had metabolic syndrome, which in 62.8% was accompanied by leptin resistance. Calculation of the relative risk in children with metabolic syndrome made it possible to identify characteristic risk factors with a very high degree, high degree and average degree of etiological determination of the risk of metabolic syndrome. The distribution of the most significant risk factors by degree of controllability obtained in the work has practical significance, since it provides grounds for concentrating attention on a group of controllable (modifiable) factors and subsequently selecting the most effective algorithms for treatment and preventive measures.
