Abstract

The authors report that the World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized obesity as an emerging chronic non-communicable “epidemic” that has a significant negative impact on public health and poses a serious threat to future generations. The study analyzes the results of surgical treatment of 109 patients with morbid obesity, divided into two groups: the comparison group (62 patients, 56.8%) received standard surgical treatment, and the main group (47 patients, 43.2%) received improved techniques and optimized surgical tactics, including laparoscopic modified longitudinal resection of the stomach.

Based on the obtained data, the authors emphasize the high clinical efficacy of modified sleeve resection and its role in improving the treatment outcomes of patients with morbid obesity.
