IMPROVEMENT OF PHARMACOLOGICAL SEDATION DURING DENTAL TREATMENT IN CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are accompanied by communication disorders, sensory hypersensitivity, and pronounced anxiety, which significantly complicates dental treatment in children. In this regard, optimizing the methods of drug sedation is of particular relevance. The work examines modern approaches to ensuring safe and effective sedation in children with ASD, taking into account their neuropsychological characteristics. The pharmacological properties of the most commonly used sedative drugs, their effectiveness, dose-dependent effects, and safety profile were analyzed. Special attention was paid to individualizing sedation regimens, selecting optimal drug combinations, monitoring physiological parameters, and minimizing the risk of adverse reactions. The research is aimed at developing improved drug sedation protocols that ensure improved dental care quality, reduced stress levels in patients, and improved collaboration during treatment.
