RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HYPOTHYROIDISM AND THE STATE OF OVARIAN RESERVE IN WOMEN OF REPRODUCTIVE AGE WITH INFERTILITY

Thyroid hypofunction in reproductive age has an impact on the possibility of conception and health of women. Hypothyroidism affects the menstrual cycle, follicular development, embryogenesis, implantation and placenta formation. In recent years, there are studies that suggest that hypothyroidism may affect ovarian reserve, as women with low ovarian reserve are often diagnosed with overt or subclinical hypothyroidism. There are conflicting publications regarding the effect of hypothyroidism on ovarian reserve. Thus, the main aim of this prospective comparative study was to evaluate the association between hypothyroidism and low ovarian reserve.
