Abstract

The article presents the results of the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with thoracic esophageal cancer. The study analyzes treatment outcomes in 37 patients with stage II–IV disease. All patients received neoadjuvant induction chemotherapy ranging from 2 to 6 cycles using various regimens, including paclitaxel + carboplatin (TC), PF, DCF, and FLOT. In several cases, chemoradiotherapy was administered, combining systemic chemotherapy with subsequent radiotherapy (total dose 40–60 Gy). It was found that neoadjuvant chemotherapy can achieve significant tumor regression. Moreover, the combination of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, chemoradiotherapy, and subsequent surgical treatment in patients with locally advanced thoracic esophageal cancer may improve oncological outcomes.
