CLINICAL-PHARMACOLOGICAL APPROACH TO THE SELECTION OF ANTIBACTERIAL DRUGS IN THE TREATMENT OF HELICOBACTER PYLORI-ASSOCIATED ULCER OF THE STOMACH AND DUODENAL (LITERATURE REVIEW)

Currently, the treatment of Helicobacter pylori-associated gastric and duodenal ulcers is carried out in accordance with the Maastricht consensus. As a result of eradication therapy carried out according to the Maastricht consensus, positive results were achieved in more than 90% of patients. Antibacterial drugs are of great importance in this eradication therapy, but recently the development of resistance of microbes (including Helicobacter pylori) to antibacterial drugs has caused a decrease in the effectiveness of treatment, as a result of which some changes have been made. According to the results of a multicenter study conducted in 18 European countries, Helicobacter pylori resistance to clarithromycin increased from 9.9% in 1998 to 21.6% by 2018. Given the widespread use of macrolides and nitroimidazoles in various fields of medicine, determining and monitoring the sensitivity of Helicobacter pylori to antibacterial drugs is one of the important tasks. According to Nissen O.P. et al., according to a meta-analysis (2022), individual therapy was more effective than empirical therapy.
