B вооруженных силах наиболее наблюдаемым и заметным типом пневмонии среди военнослужащих была внебольничная пневмония. Среди факторов риска у молодых людей молодые призывники – срочники, те, кто пришел на службу, но ёще не принимал присягу, те, кто проходит службу. Благодаря этому необходимо будет проводить постоянный эпидемиологический мониторинг заболеваемости у этих людей, чтобы определить особенности современного эпидемиологического процесса и обосновать и скорректировать основные профилактические меры.
