Butun dunyoda qalqonsimon bez kasalliklari soni ortib bormoqda. Qalqonsimon bez patologiyasi barcha endokrin kasalliklar orasida qandli diabetdan keyin ikkinchi o‘rinda turadi. Bu ekzogen omillarning ta’siri bilan bog‘liq: atrof-muhitda yod tanqisligi, turli xil strumogen omillarning ta’siri, ekologik vaziyatning yomonlashishi, qalqonsimon bezning tugunli hosilalari diagnostikasini yaxshilash. Qalqonsimon bez patologiyasining parodont to‘qimalari holatiga ta’sirini o‘rganish uning kasalliklaridan biri - endemik bo‘qoq, ayniqsa, bir qator tabiiy o‘choqli omillar - yod va ftor kam bo’lgan hududlarda keng tarqalganligi bilan ham muhimdir. Bu ekzogen omillarning ta’siri bilan bog‘liq: atrof-muhitda yod tanqisligi, turli xil omillarning ta’siri, ekologik vaziyatning yomonlashishi sabab bo’ladi.
