Ushbu sharhda xavotirli va depressiv buzilishlarning gipotireoz bilan komorbidligi asosida yotgan neyroendokrin mexanizmlar ko‘rib chiqilgan. Qalqonsimon bez disfunktsiyasining markaziy asab tizimiga ta’siri, jumladan, qalqonsimon bez gormonlarining neyrotransmitter tizimlari va stress o‘qi bilan o‘zaro ta’siri hamda autoimmun yallig‘lanishning roli bo‘yicha zamonaviy ma’lumotlar umumlashtirilgan. Gipotireoz, ayniqsa, manifest shaklida bo‘lgan hollarda, affektiv buzilishlar xavfi ortishini tasdiqlovchi epidemiologik tadqiqot natijalari keltirilgan. Gormon tanqisligiga adaptiv javob sifatida «kasallik xatti-harakati» fenomeni muhokama qilingan. Qalqonsimon bez gormonlari yetishmovchiligi va unga hamroh bo‘lgan immun o‘zgarishlar depressiya va xavotir rivojlanishiga qanday olib kelishi mumkinligini tushuntirib beruvchi asosiy patogenetik yo‘llar ajratib ko‘rsatilgan. Xulosa sifatida, ushbu komorbidlikning ko‘p omilli tabiati va uni to‘liq tushunish uchun fanlararo yondashuv zarur.
