Қондаги қанд миқдорини назорат қилишни яхшилаш учун овқатдан кейинги гликемияни бошқариш қандли диабет 2 тур (ҚД2) беморларини даволашда асосий вазифадир. FAO ва Америка қандли диабет ассотсиацияси каби халқаро ташкилотлар қондаги канд миқдорини назорат қилишни яхшилаш учун гликемик индекс (ГИ) ва гликемик юк (ГЮ) маҳсулотларини ҳисобга олишни тавсия этади.
