Кушинг синдроми билан оғриган беморларда узоқ вақт давомида глюкокортикоидларнинг глюконеогенез жараёнига ва инсулин рецепторларининг сезувчанлигига бевосита ва билвосита таъсир қилиб глюкоза алмашинуви бузилишига олиб келади. Генетик омиллар, организм қариши, β-ҳужайралар фаолияти ўзгариши глюкокортикоидлар таъсирида глюкоза алмашинуви бузилишини оғирлаштиради. Шулардан келиб чиққан ҳолда гиперкортизолемия давомийлиги ва касаллик фаоллигига қараб Кушинг синдроми билан оғриган беморларда углевод алмашинуви бузилишини ўргандик.
