PROSPECTS FOR PLANT-BASED VACCINES
Keywords:
plant vaccine, infectious diseases, adjuvants, antigens, SARS-CoV-2Abstract
This article provides information on the direction in the development of plant-based vaccines. The growth of the world's population and the emergence of an increasing number of diseases have prompted the development of new vaccines that can effectively help the body cope with a number of diseases, while being affordable and sufficiently safe. Conventional vaccines are ubiquitous; their production requires more time, improved infrastructure and high costs. Recently, new plant-based vaccines have been developed. These vaccines are already showing results with protection against many diseases such as tetanus, types of enteritis. Plant-based systems are quite affordable and do not contain bacterial endoctoxins.
