HISTORICAL BASIS OF TRADITIONS IN OUR SOCIETY AND THEIR REFLECTION IN THE EPIC “ALPOMISH”
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This scientific article discusses the Uzbek national spirit and some traditions in the epic “Alpomish”, as well as the traditions associated with our national and mental values. Eastern peoples, especially among Muslim Turkic peoples, were quick to give a name (horse) to a child when he was born in a family. He was given a name and placed in a cradle before he was seven days old. The name of the baby was chosen by mullahs, eshans or authoritative people familiar with Islamic teachings and announced in his ear by reciting the call to prayer. Nowadays, this custom exists among our people, and it is still preserved. This custom, which has a strong place in the national spirit and social life of our people, is carried out by older people whose children have grown up, who are an example to others with their family members. This custom, inherited from our ancestors, is considered a great value of our nation. We can also observe this Uzbek custom, the root of our heritage in the epic poem "Alpomish", which is a priceless monument of the creative genius of our ancestors.
