THE ENDING "-IYYUN" AS A WORD-FORMATIVE AFFIX IN ARABIC LANGUAGE
Abstract
The article analyzes the formation of words in the Arabic language by the suffix "-iyyun". There are ten letters in Arabic "alif", "lām", "yā", "wāw", "mīm", "tā", "nūn", "sīn", "hā", "hamza" which act as zoida (affix) are added to the root as a prefix, infix and suffix. Among these zoids, "yā" is written as the most productive derivational affix in the form of the "-iyyun" suffix.
