Loss of sensation in the feet and symptoms of muscle weakness are the main signs of peripheral diabetic polyneuropathy. The main problem of endocrinologists and other specialists in the field of diabetology is the difficulty of early diagnosis of the above complication of diabetes. In addition, the treatment of diabetic polyneuropathy is complicated by poor compensation, which may be associated with cognitive impairment in DM patients due to specific brain disorders. In our study, we assessed Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) mental status and Neuropathy Impairment Score — Low Limbs (NIS-LL) symptoms of muscle weakness and tenderness with Thiogamma® (Worwag Pharma) in 635 patients with diabetes and other disorders of carbohydrate metabolism.
