This article is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the distinguished linguist Professor Ibodulla Kamolovich Mirzayev. It examines his contribution to the development of Uzbek linguistics and philological studies, with particular attention to his scholarly views on the relationship between word and meaning and his approaches to the analysis of literary and poetic texts. The article also provides a general assessment of I.K. Mirzayev’s scholarly legacy, research principles, academic mentorship, and his role in the development of philological thought. Special emphasis is placed on his approach to linguistic phenomena in close connection with literary and aesthetic processes, which has contributed significantly to the advancement of Uzbek linguopoetics and textual studies.
