MIGRAINE IN PREGNANT WOMEN: COURSE PECULIARITIES AND MANAGEMENT TACTICS

Abstract

Migraine is a widespread neurological disease, which is much more common in women of reproductive age. Pregnancy has a significant impact on the course of migraine, which is associated with hormonal changes in the woman's body. In this article epidemiologic aspects of migraine in pregnant women, pathophysiologic mechanisms of changes in the course of the disease during gestation, peculiarities of clinical picture, as well as modern approaches to diagnosis and treatment taking into account safety for mother and fetus are considered. Particular attention is paid to the assessment of risk-benefit ratio in the choice of drugs, as well as non-medication methods of therapy of migraine attacks in pregnant women.
