Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA) is a rare, highly vascular tumor that typically affects adolescent males. Although its classical site of origin is the region of the choanae and the pterygopalatine fossa, in some cases extranasopharyngeal variants may occur, including those arising from structures within the nasal cavity.
Immunogenetic factors—mutations and polymorphisms of the VEGF, GSTM1, p53, and β-catenin genes—play a significant role in the pathogenesis and diagnosis of JNA by influencing angiogenesis, connective tissue reactivity, and local immune regulation. This paper presents a clinical case of angiofibroma originating from the nasal cavity, with emphasis on immunogenetic characteristics, methods of molecular and laboratory verification, and the value of immunohistochemistry in differential diagnosis.
