Ushbu tadqiqotning maqsadi, EFL talabalarining asosiy va kerakli o'qish ko'nikmalarida sinfning ishlashini baholash samaradorligini tekshirish edi. Tadqiqotda Pretest-Posttest Quasi-eksperimental dizayni qo'llanilgan. Tadqiqot sub'ektlari 2006/2007 o'quv yilida o'g'il bolalar uchun mo'ljallangan O'rta maktab o'quvchilari uchun birinchi kurs talabalari, 2006/2007 o'quv yilida. Ushbu mavzular eksperimental guruhga va nazorat guruhiga bo'lingan. Ikkala guruh ham tajriba o'tkazishdan oldin ularning asosiy va kerakli o'qish ko'nikmalarini o'lchashga da'vo qilishgan.
