LEXICAL POTENTIAL OF THE LANGUAGE OF MASS MEDIA (A CASE STUDY OF NEWSPAPER LANGUAGE)

This article analyzes the lexical characteristics of the language of mass media based on newspaper texts. It also provides an in-depth examination of the use of vocabulary in media texts, the cultural hegemony of language as the primary means of discourse in newspaper materials, and the creation of thematic frames in mass media texts that shape the audience’s understanding of specific issues by linking particular terms within a semantic field. The study highlights the role of lexical choices in constructing meaning and influencing the interpretation of media discourse.
