This article examines the concept of syntactic structures, their linguistic essence, classification, and the major approaches to their study in global linguistics. Syntax occupies a central position in linguistic theory because it explains how words combine to form meaningful phrases, clauses, and sentences. The paper reviews traditional, structural, generative, functional, and cognitive approaches to syntax and analyzes their contributions to modern linguistic research. Particular attention is paid to the classification of syntactic structures, including simple, compound, complex, and mixed constructions. The article also discusses the role of syntactic analysis in contemporary fields such as corpus linguistics, computational linguistics, discourse studies, and language teaching. Through a comparative examination of linguistic traditions, the study demonstrates how syntactic structures remain a crucial area of investigation in understanding language organization and communication.
