This article analyzes the use of descriptions of gluttonic descriptions in the 21st century. The stylistic features of the names of sweets used in John Harris's novel “Chocolate” are analyzed. The role of sweets nominates as a stylistic description of the portraits of heroes was investigated. Issues of translating desserts into a second language were considered.
