THE HISTORICAL AND SPIRITUAL ROOTS OF THE EMERGENCE OF SYMBOLIC IMAGES IN CHINESE LITERATURE

Abstract

The usage of the symbolic images gained the great emphasis in Chinese literature, especially, in poetry. The simple objects could rise up to the level of the symbol and this, in turn, depends on a number of factors, because of the fact that the word covers a variety of meanings so is used to a large extent in poetry. The article studies the origin of such symbolic images, the formation of their meaning, the study of the historical and spiritual roots and discusses their differences from the traditional stylistic means that occupy an important place in Chinese literature. The author also considers the use of the "symbol" and traditional "bixing" in various scientific schools and through literary works of some Chinese scholars and writers. He offers his own conclusions on the subject matter.
