Verbs expressing mental state express positive and negative emotional processes and various changes that occur in a person’s mood and psyche in connection with them. In the Uzbek language, their scope of application is quite wide, and they are actively used in our speech. Typically, a mental state adjective is defined as an internal type of state adjective. In the historical novels of the famous writer Sh. Isakhonova, such as “Bibihanim”, “Gavharshodbegim”, in the author’s speech verbs of mental states and their relative, adjective forms are relatively more common, as well as adjectives and expressions, that is, in those places where describes the character and state of mind of the characters or where one character describes another character. Conditional verbs in the Uzbek language include, in their subject matter, certain processes related to nature and society, flora and fauna, biology, physiology and human psychology. This article examines linguistic units that represent the psychological state of a person in the historical novels of the famous Uzbek writer Shakhodat Isakhanova.
