Abstract

Immune cells of the small intestine are a unique and understudied population of cells that perform immune defense functions. These cells are distributed in the epithelium of the mucosa of the small intestine and have the ability to detect pathogens and regulate metabolic and immune processes in the alimentary canal. This article reviews and discusses key aspects of the immune cells of the small intestine, including their morphology, function, and role in maintaining body homeostasis. We also review ongoing research aimed at elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying these cellular effects and their potential implications for the development of new approaches in therapeutic practice and immunology. The article provides an overview of the main aspects related to the immune cells of the small intestine and emphasizes their importance in the context of the functioning of the immune system and the regulation of metabolic processes in the body. This line of research has the potential to identify new effective learning methods and is of interest for clinical practice and scientific research.
