THE PERIOD OF STABILIZATION AND GROWTH OF TRADE, ECONOMIC AND INVESTMENT COOPERATION BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN AND THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION (2000 – 2008)

This article analyzes the economic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation in 2000-2008. The period of stabilization and growth of cooperation is highlighted as the main stage of this interaction. The article considers the structural features of the economy in Uzbekistan, foreign trade dynamics, investment projects and the role of Russia in the energy sector. Particular attention is paid to the strategy of diversification of Uzbekistan's foreign economic relations and the formation of an institutional framework for cooperation with the Russian Federation. The article concludes about multifaceted Uzbek-Russian economic relations, and show their dependence on domestic and foreign economic and political conditions.
