THE LOCATION OF OZBEK TRIBES ACROSS THE TERRITORY OF CENTRAL ASIA IN SOURCES

This article analyzes the distribution of Uzbek tribes and clans across Central Asia based on historical sources. The study compares lists of 92 Uzbek tribes found in manuscripts No. 4330 and No. 4188 from the Oriental Manuscripts Collection of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as in the works of Sayfiddin Aksikenti, A.Khoroshkhin, N.V.Khanykov, D.N.Logofet, Ch.Valikhanov, and other authors. The authors demonstrate that the order of tribes in these lists is not random but reflects their political significance, regional influence, and mutual affinity. Drawing on the data of Zaki Validi Togan and other scholars, the study examines major tribal groups (Qongirat, Naiman, Kenagas, Manghit, etc.) and their geographical locations. The research holds significant value for a deeper understanding of the ethnic history of Central Asian peoples, processes of ethnogenesis, and issues of regional cooperation.
