THE ROLE OF RELIGIOUS RECONCILIATION IN MAINTAINING PEACE AND TOLERANCE IN OUR COUNTRY

Peace is the basis for the development of any society today. Many peoples have lived in the territory of Uzbekistan since ancient times. Apart from the holy Islam religion, there are also Christian, Buddhist, Jewish and other religions. Religious attitudes became more acute during the tyrannical Soviet regime. Soviet atheistic agitation was carried out and the beliefs of many people were dwindling. The independence of religion has changed dramatically since independence. In particular, the principle of “secularism is not atheism” is the basis of freedom of religion in independent Uzbekistan. Today, 16 religious denominations live in Uzbekistan. Representatives of the more than 140 nations living here consider Uzbekistan as their home country. All this proves that Uzbekistan is a land of generosity.
