Keywords:
representations, beliefs, maternity rituals, Tatars, rituals, custom, ritual, traditionAbstract
The article reveals the traditional and modern ideas about the first stages of the birth of the Tatars of Tashkent, relating to infertility, pregnancy and childbirth. The roots of the emergence of beliefs associated with maternity rituals are analyzed. The degree of preservation of this traditional ritual practice is shown. Local and general features of the "initial chains" of motherhood are revealed. The reasons for the poor preservation of traditional ideas and beliefs associated with maternity rituals in the memoirs of the Tatars of Tashkent, in contrast to their fellow tribesmen in their historical homeland, are examined.
