At the moment, Uzbekistan's participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is of particular importance. This organization was established as an informal forum between China and neighboring countries on border issues in the framework of the Shanghai Boundary Agreement on Inter-Military Cooperation signed in 1996.
