HUMAN HONOR AND DIGNITY AS THE HIGHEST VALUE

This article analyzes the issues of protecting the honor and dignity of a person in the legislation of different countries, in particular the Republic of Uzbekistan. The article also discusses the historical development of legislation in the field of the protection of honor and the dignity of the individual from ancient times to the present day, the arguments of some scholarly thinkers. It also provides examples of the approach of the legislation of foreign countries to assessing the public danger of libel, and, consequently, to its punishability.
