ELECTIONS TO THE SUPREME ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN - MAJORITY SYSTEM: HISTORY OF FORMATION AND ANALYSIS

This article describes the history of the majority system of elections to the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the differences between the majoritarian and proportional electoral systems, with examples of the advantages of the majoritarian form used in the electoral system of parliament. It also emphasizes that elections are a reflection of democracy, the importance of the electoral process for the future of the country and that this is the purpose of elections. It should be noted that free elections not only form state power, but also demonstrate their responsibility to the people. How democratic an election is depends on a country's electoral system.
