SCRATCHED DECORATIVE CERAMIC POTS IN ANCIENT FERGANA HANDICRAFTS

This article describes the history of the study of red-angled, scratched ceramic vessels that appeared suddenly in the 1st century AD and existed until the 5th-6th centuries AD, typical for the Fergana Valley. The main feature of these ornaments is that the pottery was burnt before the pattern. The item was made on a pottery wheel and was given a red angob. After the pottery was burnt, it was decorated with sharp objects. In addition, pottery, that is typical for Fergana with scratched decorative features, had been found in the Ganges Valley in Central India. It was during this period that the scratched decorative pottery reached its peak in Fergana.
