FROM THE HISTORY OF ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF OPHTHALMIC HOSPITALS IN THE FERGHANA REGION AT THE LATE OF THE XIX - BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY

The article examines the history of the creation and development of specialized medical institutions and ophthalmological hospitals in Turkestan in the late XIX - early XX centuries, including in the Fergana region. The history of the opening of a special ophthalmological hospital in New Margilan as a result of the efforts of doctors and local authorities in the Fergana region has also been studied. Historical examples show that this eye hospital has won the trust of the local population not only in the Fergana region, but also in neighboring regions. The positive results of the hospital in the treatment of eye diseases in the country showed a positive change in the attitude of the local population to modern ophthalmological services and their rapprochement with the population of Russia.
