In this article, the specific characteristics of the traditional Uzbek theater and the role and importance of the traditional Uzbek theater in the formation of the modern Uzbek theater, as well as the role and specific characteristics of the Russian, Azerbaijani and Tatar theaters in the formation of the modern Uzbek theater. The role of theater in the social and political life of Turkestan people, the stages of formation of modern Uzbek theater and dramaturgy, as well as the state of coverage of the works carried out in the field of theater during this period in periodical press publications are analyzed.
