The article discusses the artistic journey of the artist Lev Yevgrafovich Dmitriev Kavkazsky, a member of the Russian Imperial Academy of Arts, to Khiva Khanate at the end of the 19th century.
St. Petersburg academic artist, engraver Lev Evgrafovich Dmitriev Kavkazsky deeply represented the interlocutor of the Khiva ruler Said Muhammad Rahim Bahadurkhan II, with a serious face, the keeper of calm in the country, and the official Matmurad Devonbegi - a cog in the mechanism of the feudal monarchy of Khiva, outwardly pessimistic, internal, made with artistic lines on abstract image of the world.
