FUNCTIONAL DIRECTIONS OF UZBEK CALENDAR RITES: SILKMOTH

This article discusses the rituals associated with the silkworm, one of the most important sectors of the economy in the study of calendar rituals. It is recognized that silkworm farming requires specialized skills in this area, while silkworm farming can be done by sedentary farmers. In particular, it has been scientifically proven that cocooning, which is a seasonal occupation, has long been practiced by the peoples of Central Asia when caring for silkworms and extracting silk fabric from them.
