Mazkur maqolada ilmiy meros tushunchasining shakllanishi, uning aniq, ijtimoiy-gumanitar va tabiiy fanlar kesimidagi tasnifi asoslab berilgan. Ilmiy merosni saqlashda fan, ta’lim va muzeyshunoslikning bog‘liqligi yoritilgan. Shuningdek, xorij davlatlari Xitoy, Fransiya, Italiya, Rossiya, Germaniya va Buyuk Britaniya kabi mamlakatlarda ilmiy muzeylarning shakllanish tajribasi o‘rganilib, O‘zbekistonda mavjud ilmiy muzeylar faoliyatiga to‘xtalib o‘tilgan.
