Бақтрия (Бақтриана) Ўрта Осиёдаги тарихий-маданий вилоят бўлиб, Амударёнинг ўрта оқимида Ҳисор тизмаси ва Ҳиндикуш оралиғида жойлашган (ҳозирги Жанубий Ўзбекистон, Жанубий Тожикистон, Шимолий Афғонистон ва Жануби-шарқий Туркманистон). Ушбу тарихий-маданий вилоят мил. авв. VI-IV асрларда Аҳамонийлар салтанати таркибига кирган бўлиб, ушбу даврда бу ҳудудда маҳаллий давлатчилик бошқарув анъаналари янада ривожлантирилган. Аҳамонийлар империясининг асосий сатраплик ҳудудларидан бири бўлган Бақтрия сатраплиги тарихи Аҳамоний битиклари, Элам, Бобил, оромий каби бир қанча ёзма манбаларда қисман ёритиб ўтилган. Уларни илмий жиҳатдан таҳлил қилиш Бақтрия сатраплигининг сиёсий, ижтимоий-иқтисодий тарихи, аҳолининг турмуш тарзи ҳақида қимматли маълумотлар олишга ёрдам беради. Ушбу мақолада Бақтрия сатраплигининг манбашунослиги масалалари ёритилган.
