Abstract

Today, students learn a foreign language faster through modern methods and various interactive games than through traditional methods. This article describes the effectiveness of competency-based pedagogical approaches in teaching a foreign language. The study focuses on the importance of modern information technologies in the educational process and the role of didactic materials and multimedia tools in developing language learners' mental competencies, i.e., knowledge of language theories, national culture, and intercultural communication skills tools.
