LANGUAGE AND EXTRALINGUISTIC FACTORS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF TURKISH TOPONYMS IN THE KYZILKUM REGION
Abstract
It is known that the names of lands and waters in any language are the result of collective creativity of the people from ancient times to thousands of years. Folk names formed in the ethnological space are passed down from generation to generation, are an integral part of its national worldview, spirituality, value system, historical relics, cultural heritage. Thus, we can say that the names of places and waters are an important linguistic and cultural factor that directly connects mankind and the surrounding topographic environment, thereby determining the linguistic, territorial, ethnic identity of the ethnos.
The continuity of any country, its past and present, is reflected in its toponyms. Land and water names of our country also tell about the centuries-old history of our people. The article says that one of the most pressing issues today is the study and transmission of place names to the next generation due to the fact that many toponyms have been changed and forgotten in the "difficult" times of our country.
