PROFESSOR TURA NAFASOV – GREAT RESEARCHER OF UZBEK TOPONYMICS (Dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the scientist)

Abstract

The article demonstrates scientific activities of the founder of Uzbek scientific toponymy and his works on Uzbek linguistics. Also toponyms of the Kashkadarya region are investigated according to the linguistic aspect of the study of regional toponyms. In particular ethnogenetic and historical analysis of toponyms, the structure and formation of toponyms, lexical and semantic features of toponyms are enlightened.
