INTERPRETATION OF ONE BEIT OR ABOUT TRANSLATIONS OF SOME WORDS IN THE NAVOI ANTHOLOGY

ABSRACT

The article discusses the research conducted by Professor S. Ganiyeva in the preparation of the scientific-critical text of the anthology "Majalis un-nafais", the problems of preparing a critical text, comparative study of manuscripts and some errors made in the process of transliterating the collection into Cyrillic and offers suggestions for correcting these errors in subsequent editions. Professor S. Ganieva set herself a very responsible task and successfully completed it. Given the differences between the literary language of the 15th century and the modern one, she wrote notes and comments to acquaint modern readers with Navoi's prose. Despite all these efforts, it is still difficult for the average reader to understand the meaning of some of the words and expressions used by Navoi and some of the stanzas mentioned in the anthology. Correcting these technical errors will help to better understand Navoi's prose.
