LEXIC-SEMANTIC GROUPS OF NEOLOGISMS EMERGED IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES IN PERIOD OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The current article aimed to analyse lexical-semantic groups of neologisms that emerged in English and Uzbek languages in period of COVID-19 pandemic. Neologisms were analyzed based on the attitude of the language speakers to the coronavirus and divided into lexical-semantic groups, such as neologisms representing social processes occurring in society, groups of people, forms of work and education, objects related to the disease. Similar and different characteristics of neologisms, appeared during the pandemic in English and Uzbek languages are studied in a comparative aspect.
